A private unit established by the surviving former members of S.T.A.R.S., in particular Chris Redfield. Other members included Jill Valentine and Barry Burton. Its primary focus was eliminating the remnants of Umbrella Pharmaceutical, as well as anti-biohazard and anti-bioterrorism activities.
History
After re-grouping with Jill and Barry after saving his sister from the Umbrella Antarctic Base, Chris continued his anti-Umbrella activities. Following the dissolution of Umbrella USA in February 1999, Chris and Jill established a private civilian-led military unit with the objective of hunting down and systematically destroying the remnants of Umbrella and investigating biohazard-related cases, operating with anti-biohazard and anti-bioterrorism goals.
In February 2003, after Chris and Jill uncovered the Umbrella's plot of restoration following an outbreak of the t-virus in a small Russian village, they organized an attack on the Umbrella Caucasus Research Facility, destroying the new B.O.W., T-A.L.O.S., and the facility as a whole. Soon after Umbrella's downfall was sealed following the loss of its Supreme Court trial, bioterrorism became prominent. In response, the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance was formed, with Chris's unit as one of the foundations.
