The Biohazard 4D-Executer ride was located at the Toshimaen amusement park in Tokyo, Japan, It was a short CG film based on Resident Evil and debuted on April 26, 2001. Approximately 20 minutes long, the film focuses on Raccoon City, and the story entails a unit of 5 U.B.C.S. (Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service) soldiers sent to Raccoon in search of a missing female scientist, Dr Cameron. As they reach her research facility, however, they begin to realize that coming to Raccoon was more than they bargained for.
The film was shown on a 220 in. screen within a specially designed theater. Film viewers sat in chairs with built-in speakers and hydraulics. As opposed to using regular film, CAPCOM used a propriety DVD system to show the film. Adult tickets, which could be purchased upon entering the park, cost 1,200 yen ($10.00). In attendance for the film’s debut were a handful of CAPCOM representatives, including Yoshiki Okamoto.
While the main attraction has since been shut down, the ride is still operational in Kobe, Japan (as of July 2008) although in a mere stall similar to a photo booth or arcade.
