Information

B.O.W Model: "J'avo"
Base Organism: Human

Title

J'avo

The J'avo was a humanoid B.O.W. (Bio Organic Weapon) created due to C-virus injection on a human with an average compatibility with the virus. 1 It was named by the BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance).

History

The J'avo was first reported in the Eastern European nation of the Republic of Edonia in December 2012. Its appearance caused the intervention of the BSAA.

Several samples of J'avo mutations were sent to the BSAA European Headquarters Technology Research Office by Piers Nivans, where the researchers named them individually.

Carla Radames used the poor population of Lanshiang, China in order to create a countless number of J'avo as a private army. Six months later, a large number of these were released into Lanshiang in a bioterrorist attack of unprecedented magnitude, forcing the eight branches of the BSAA into action.

Attributes

Morphology

The distinguishable characteristics of a J'avo were its often heavily discolored skin tone, faint blue-violet veins coursing through its face and its often uneven, jagged and discolored teeth. The most notable J'avo characteristic was the restructuring of the face and formation of several new eyes similar to those of a spider. These eyes appeared in different patterns, positions and sizes such as large vertical eyes or clusters of four smaller eyes. The newly formed eye sockets mutation caused the skin around the area to appear ruptured and even bleed profusely. The eyes were large and rounded with small pupils and irises filled with tiny specks ranging from an off-white or pale yellow to a darker yellow or brown.

The J'avo retained a human level of intelligence with full cognition at the expense of reasoning and free will. It was extremely aggressive and bloodthirsty which, in conjunction with its high intelligence, manifested in sadistic tendencies and desires. Its body temperature was extremely high due to the effects of the C-virus, a trait inherited from the t-Veronica virus. When damage exceeded the J'avo's recovery ability, the body combusted due to escalation of the virus' activity, leading to death by incineration. As long as the virus was active, injuries normally fatal to normal humans regenerated in little time. This recovery ability also negated the fatal weakpoint of a humanoid B.O.W., the head. Although still weak compared to the rest of the body, a J'avo could survive several blows to the head.

Combat

The J'avo retained most human intelligence and was capable of using weapons such as blades and firearms, as well as hand-to-hand fighting. Compared to most B.O.W. models, it could understand human interactions and plan accordingly. It had a tendency to faithfully repeat commands given prior to C-virus injection, and even if a command was something dangerous dealing with life and death, it would carry it out with absolutely no fear. Its movements on a battlefield were exactly like that of trained soldiers. However, a J'avo was severely weak to the C-virus vaccine "Anti-C." Exposure to the vaccine led to almost instant death.

Mutations

A J'avo mutation refers to the state in which mutations occur to parts of a J'avo's body. When a body part is significantly damaged, the C-virus activates to carry out restoration. As a result, a damaged point tended to mutate into something resembling the form of an insect with chitinous tissue, due to the insect genes contained in the C-virus. There were many variations, including mutations which grew wings and flew, and those with arms and head mutated like shields. 2

Verified mutations include the following, separated by specific body parts:

Glava-Sluz

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the head. The creature spit a sticky, viscous fluid akin to webbing to constrain a target, leaving them vulnerable to other attacks whilst they try to free themselves. The name means "Head-Slime" in Serbian.

Glava-Smech

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the head. The torso ruptured open, causing beetle-like mandibles to extend. The creature used these mandibles to grab a target into the air and either bisect or devour them like an insect.

Glava-Begunats

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the head. Two different protrusions appeared, one resembling the head of an insect and the other containing two small hook-like appendages. This mutation caused the J'avo to enter a berserk frenzy and viciously attack targets until death. The name means "Runaway Head" in Serbian.

Glava-Dim

Triggered when a J'avo received heavy damage to the head. Protrusions resembling the stinger and abdomen of a bee or wasp appeared during head regeneration. The creature emitted a poisonous gas that damaged and impaired vision. The name means "Head-Smoke" in Serbian.

Arm

Ruka-Srp

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the arm. The arm extended between the joints causing the length to increase greatly as the hand mutated into a crude and brutal sickle. The end result was a limb greatly resembling the arms of a praying mantis in the way it folded. The name means "Sickle Arm" in Serbian.

Ruka-Khvatanje

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the arm. The arm became rounded, longer, and wider, ending in three pincers in place of fingers which were capable of grabbing a target. The new arm was able to stretch considerable distance, bend around corners, and reach over cover. The name means "Catcher Arm" in Serbian.

Ruka-Bedem

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the arm. The arm ruptured and split apart as additional organic material grew. Thick muscle tissue covered the gaps from where the sections of the arm extended. The exterior of the limb was covered with layered pieces of strong armor-like chitin. The J'avo used this as armor to shield the head and body from damage. The name means "Wall Arm" in Serbian.

Leg

Noga-Trchanje

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the leg. A new abdomen and thorax resembling an insect's sprouted from the back and replaced the legs, leaving the upper body dangling. This form primarily moved and attacked by pouncing. The name means "Leg Work" in Serbian.

Noga-Let

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the leg. The lower torso exploded causing a moth-like body to erupt. A pair of large wings capable of carrying the human torso appeared, as well as a long-tailed stinger capable of piercing a target. The name means "Leg Flight" in Serbian.

Noga-Skakanje

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the leg. As the legs ruptured, a new lower body grew in its place resembling an insect's thorax and abdomen, complete with large insect legs easily capable of carrying the J'avo's weight and kick a target with severe force. Its figure is greatly reminiscent of a grasshopper. The name means "Leg Hopper" in Serbian.

Noga-Oklop

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the leg. The legs of the J'avo split and expanded culminating in the upper body being carried by a pair of legs covered with a strong carapace of chitinous tissue with some human bones protruding. The new legs enabled it to perform powerful jumping kicks able to knock a target down. The name means "Leg Armor" in Serbian.

Torso

Telo-Eksplozija

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the torso. This mutation caused the J'avo's torso to mutate into a grotesque cocoon-like shape. This mutation had no attacks and simply tried to get as close to a target as possible in order to explode, maiming or killing the target and damaging anything in the immediate vicinity. If shot in the legs, it knelt over and exploded in place. The name means "Body Explosion" in Serbian.

Telo-Krljusht

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the torso. The J'avo's torso was encased in strong chitinous scale-like tissue that rendered its body immune to firearms, though it was still vulnerable to explosions. The name means "Body Scale" in Serbian.

Telo-Magla

Triggered when the J'avo received heavy damage to the torso. The J'avo writhed on the ground and sprouted several appendages similar to moth wings, though it was incapable of movement once transformed. This mutation constantly emitted a poisonous gas that damaged a target and obscured vision until it was destroyed. The name means "Body Mist" in Serbian.

Chrysalid

When injured, the C-virus activated and further raised the J'avo's body temperature until the formation of a Chrysalid. In this stage, its outer skin mutated and hardened into a form resembling a pupa. After dissolution and rebuilding of body tissue is carried out due to the action of the C-virus within the pupa, it transformed into a completely new organism, breaking the strong crust and emerging. A J'avo that achieved such a mutation was called a "Complete Mutation Species."

Although the standard C-virus created Complete Mutation Species with random mutations, the modification of an organism's genes or the integration of genes of specific organisms allowed several strains of the virus to be synthesized for the purpose of creating specific CMS models reflecting certain characteristics. As a result, it became possible to create hybrid B.O.W. models exceeding the capabilities of models created by previous viruses. Culture of these strains enabled the mass-production of particular CMS models. 3
