Title

Queen Leech

The Queen Leech was a special variation of the basic Leech B.O.W. (Bio Organic Weapon) created by James Marcus. 1

History

In 1988, Marcus experimented on a single leech test subject using the primitive t-virus instead of the Progenitor virus to create an enhanced variation for B.O.W. application. In the middle of the experiment, he was shot dead by soldiers led by Albert Wesker and William Birkin and his body was disposed of. The leech avoided death after falling on the ground and escaping.

The leech later found and entered its creator's corpse and infected it with the t-virus. The leech assimilated his genetic information and cerebral functions while the t-virus repaired dead parts of the body and remodeled it over a period of ten years as a new hybridized creature. In the process, Marcus remained dead, but the Queen Leech assimilated with his corpse and became a new creature that retained his memories and was able to mimic him exactly.

In May 1998, the Queen Leech fully reawakened in the guise of a young Marcus and desired revenge against the Umbrella Corporation for its betrayal. On May 11, it caused a leak of the t-virus in the Arklay Laboratory by causing an accident during the virus injection of the Tyrant (T-002 Type). It caused another biohazard outbreak in the abandoned Umbrella Executive Training Center.

On July 23, it leaked the t-virus on the Ecliptic Express train as it passed through the Arklay Mountains. Later that day, it revealed itself to Wesker and Birkin as they observed the training center and released the Eliminator B.O.W. to kill Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen, which it saw as trespassing obstacles. During the early morning of the next day, it confronted the two to kill them and was destroyed itself.

Attributes

Mimicry

The Queen Leech was highly intelligent due to assimilating with Marcus' brain and had the ability to speak. It was able to control other leeches through sound and olfactory messaging using certain micro-chemicals, such as pheromones. It was hermaphroditic like normal leeches and its mimicry ability reached an unthinkable level due to superior evolution by the t-virus.

Similar to the Mimicry Marcus, it functioned by merging with the leeches it controlled but was also able to maintain perfectly human form and movement without regressing to a form with no resemblance to Marcus. In addition, the adhesive bodily fluid used by the leech to merge with other leeches was vastly superior to the same fluid of the other leeches. It could maintain a perfect mimicry under almost any circumstances, while a Mimicry Marcus could only maintain the mimicry when completely stationary.

First Form

When the Queen Leech abandoned its mimicry of Marcus, it merged with more leeches and reformed into a towering indescribable creature with a barely humanoid shape. Upon sighting an enemy it attacked with whip-like appendages made out of merged leeches.

Second Form

When the Queen Leech sensed bodily harm, the t-virus activated and mutated the leech into a second form over ten times larger than the first. In this stage, it merged with surrounding leeches as an energy source to fuel the replication of its own cells. Damaged parts of the body were completely regenerated and its large size and grotesque appearance made it appear primitive. It gained extreme vitality with the ability to secrete a poisonous substance and invulnerability to small arms fire.

However, as the merged leeches were coated with an almost transparent film to maintain this form, it was weak to sunlight since cells damaged by burning ultraviolet rays were unable to maintain the form. This left it weakened and unable to protect itself, allowing it to be defeated by a single .44 caliber bullet.

Etymology

The Queen Leech's name comes from the fact that it ruled over other leeches. As it was a hermaphrodite, the name did not refer to its gender.
