Title

Resident Evil: Dead Aim

Resident Evil Dead Aim (Biohazard Gun Survivor 4: Heroes Never Die) is the fourth entry into the Survivor series, with the third being aligned to the Dino Crisis series. Dead Aim restores the third-person perspective, but upon aiming switches to the first person. The game takes place in 2002 on board the Umbrella owned cruiser, the Spencer Rain, as well as Benthic Island, an abandoned Umbrella facility somewhere in the Atlantic. Member of USSSTRATCOM, Bruce McGivern is sent to prevent an ex Umbrella employee from launching T-virus missiles all over the world. Dead Aim was solely released on the PlayStation 2 and made good use of Namco's GunCon2 lightgun.

Plot Synopsis

With the Umbrella folded in North America, only the European branches of the once worldwide organization remained. However, when the Raccoon City incident was blamed on Umbrella it was only a matter of time before the major laboratories were shut down. Umbrella however continued to function with its illegal bio-organic weapons trade by covertly selling their products to the highest bidders. Many of these auctions took place in seemingly inconspicuous locations.

The luxury cruise liner, the Spencer Rain is one such vessel, owned and operated by Umbrella it was used to show off and promote their latest and greatest B.O.W.s.

After HUNK had procured the G-virus from William Birkin in 1998, the European division began to maximize the potential of the virus by infusing it with the stable T-virus to create electrical properties. This was one such product on show when the Spencer Rain was hijacked by ex-Umbrella employee Morpheus D. Duvall. Having caught Umbrella unaware in Paris, Morpheus stole T-virus samples from the laboratories and unleashed it upon the guests on the ship.

Enter USSTRATCOM agent, Bruce McGivern and Chinese agent, Fong Ling to prevent Morpheus's plan of releasing T-virus missiles from happening. Bruce however is captured and held at gun point by Morpheus and is about to be killed when Fong Ling drops a grenade and Bruce is able to escape. Morpheus is critically wounded, and in a final act of desperation injects himself with the T+G virus.

Development History

While Resident Evil 3 was in development, the game was originally not meant to be set in Raccoon City. Instead, the setting would be a ship similar to the one seen in Dead Aim. The concept was dropped and the premise of a zombie infested ship was instead used later for both Dead Aim and the non-canon Gaiden.
