Title

Resident Evil: Uprising

Resident Evil Uprising is the direct sequel to Resident Evil Genesis; the alternate take on some of the series most memorable moments.

Like Genesis, the game is divided into isometric squares, akin to the Confidential Report series, but this time the setting is the RPD with Resident Evil 2 heroin, Claire Redfield.

Plot Synopsis

Looking for her lost brother, Chris Redfield, Claire arrives in Raccoon City to find the city overan with the undead and other monstrosities. Initially seeking refuge in the R.P.D, Claire must battle out of the building in order to escape the horrors that lurk in every room.

Development History

Uprising joins a select group of cellphone games developed by Capcom themselves. The relative of success of Genesis, and the ever popular Resident Evil 2 meant this release was inevitable.

Utilising the same engine as the prequel, the details of the RPD are impressive, but with recent mobile editions of Resident Evil 4 and Degeneration boasting full 3D environments, the static movements and backgrounds seem somewhat dated.

Canonicity

Like many mobile games, the canonicty is up for debate. Factually the events witnessed in this game by Claire Redfield are not canon with the original game taking precedent over this incarnation.

However as this is a Capcom developed game, more weight is given to the installment and if Uprising follows the Genesis formula then new files (if included) would be added to the timeline. As of yet, there is no suggestion that new files have been put into the game.
