Tricell, Inc.

Also known by the codename of "S". A conglomerate comprised of three main divisions, including shipping, natural resources and pharmaceutical divisions. Tricell was also a prominent member of the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium, and was a major contributor to the funding of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance.

History

Comprised of shipping, natural resources and pharmaceutical divisions and founded by the Travis family during the Age of Exploration as Travis Trading, Tricell was a major pharmaceutical company that maintained facilities throughout the world, finding it's humble beginnings as a shipping company. Thomas Travis, a European merchant, founded the company. At the time, Travis Trading profited greatly from expansive trading with the Orient, laying the groundwork for what would later become Tricell's shipping division. In the 1800s, the youngest of seven siblings, Henry Travis, was indirectly responsible for the discovery of the Progenitor virus a full 100 years or so before its uncovering. With Henry's impressive 72 volume book set entitled "Survey of Natural History". The scientific community largely wrote off his books, which were written from his five expeditions to Africa and contained an expansive amount of information on everything from flora, fauna and folklore. With Henry's death only two years after his final expedition, his older brother spread the rumour that the set was nothing but fiction. In reality, he wanted to ensure that Travis Trading would be the only ones privy to the large amount of information within the books.

By the mid-19th century, Travis Trading, with Henry's books, used the information within to great extent and gained a firm foothold on Africa and exploited the abundant mineral resources contained within. Mining, oil and natural gas fields were among these endeavours, establishing the foundation for the natural resources department of Tricell. During the mid-20th century, they had begun to collect specimens of plants, animals and insects, also using the information within Henry's books. These specimens were applied for pharmaceutical research, bringing commercial success and laying the foundation for the pharmaceutical division of Tricell. During the 1960's, the three divisions of Travis Trading merged and formed the conglomerate; Tricell. Each division of Tricell (shipping, natural resources and development, and pharmaceuticals) runs on its own capital, essentially making them seperate entities under a single parent company. Other divisions also exist between Tricell's branch offices.

In 1999, Excella Gionne of the prominent Gionne family entered Tricell's pharmaceutical division, but was only given one research team. In 2003, while still angered over this, Excella was approached by Albert Wesker who provided her with all of the information he had on the T-virus and other research such as the T-Veronica virus. Wesker also supplied her with the technology necessary to allow Tricell to conduct their own research. Using these, Excella was able to establish Tricell's secret bioweapons division. Soon after, Umbrella, who had previously dominated the B.O.W. market, bankrupted, greatly increasing Tricell's sway in the area as it moved in to fill the gap left by Umbrella. The success of these operations gave Excella increased voice and control over the pharmaceuticals division, giving Wesker himself even more of a foothold in the company through Excella. In 2004, Wesker's covert operations in Spain allowed Tricell to gain access to the Las Plagas, ancient parasitic organisms. A year later in 2005, another pharmaceutical company called WilPharma bankrupted following the Harvardville Incident. Tricell subsequently bought out the receeding company. Through a subsequent excavation beneath the Air Dome Research Facility, Tricell's researchers managed to retrieve a tail fragment of Curtis Miller. Through this fragment, Tricell managed to gain the G-virus.

Sometime later, Excella managed to become CEO of Tricell Africa through her application of both flattery and intimidation, allowing Wesker to use them both to further his Uroboros Plan. Her first order of business was to restore the Umbrella Africa Research Facility, which Tricell themselves soon built a new facility behind. With the facility's restoration, Tricell were able to finally gain the Progenitor virus. At the same time, Ricardo Irving was employed to handle the sale of B.O.W.s for profit which would be used to further research into the Uroboros virus. Following an investigation by the BSAA West Africa branch, Irving became wanted tor questioning in relation to the sale of B.O.W.s. After finding out about their involvement, Irving unleashed the recently developed Type 2 Plagas among the population of the Kijuju Autonomous Zone, triggering an incident which would eventually lead to the deaths of Irving, Excella and Wesker. It is not known what became of Tricell following the incident.
