I recall that almost immediatly after Degeneration came out in 2008 Capcom announced they were doing a sequel. I've heard exactly nothing about a third film. Absolutely nothing. Not even someone at Capcom saying they have no plans. What's up with that? I thought the movies were pretty successful. Is there any info?

Not as of now as far as I

Not as of now as far as I know. Don't see why they wouldn't be somewhere down the line, though.

We need a third CG film.

We need a third CG film.

do we? damnation, aside from

do we? damnation, aside from the war setting and the use of Tyrants added nothing to storyline.

Certainly don't need one, but

Certainly don't need one, but Damnation was a pleasant surprise. And while I don't really see them creating or exploring major plot points, they are nice little chunks of Resident Evil, And long as they stay enjoyable, I wont say no to more.

It'd be nice to see Leon take a back seat for one, though.

It'd be NICE if Leon took a

It'd be NICE if Leon took a permanent retirement or bullet to the head after BH6. If he's the star of ANOTHER film, something we definitely do not need, I'll be most pissed. He's had more than enough exposure.

Wouldn't mind Leon becoming

Wouldn't mind Leon becoming Sherry's supervising agent or something, with Sherry as the lead character in the new movie and Leon in a support role.

Sherry would indeed be

Sherry would indeed be interesting. I was happy to hear Sherry was returning in RE6, but honestly, I thought her character would be horrible. I was very much wrong, I really enjoyed her and really liked Jake, too.

Might be interesting seeing Claire again (I'm quite the fan). Working with Terrasave, something goes amiss, and so forth. Claire being the lead would be a good way to reintroduce her to the series and set up great cameo options for Leon, Chris and even Sherry. More so Sherry perhaps.

I agree with you Bandage I

I agree with you Bandage I believe their should be a third CG film for Resident Evil that would be awesome.

No, Damnation hasn't added

No, Damnation hasn't added anything to the storyline, yet; but the same was said of RE0 and RE4 in their times, and they've become somewhat integral parts of the storyline (hilariously, RE5 is the one that helped them both). I still feel the Outbreaks had nothing to add to the storyline, but that doesn't stop me from wanting an HD remake/a sequel (preferably with a superior inventory system).

Well what about the guy Ada

Well what about the guy Ada was talking to at the end of Damnation? Unless I'm wrong its never said who he was. Also there's the Las Plagas: Organisms of War video with Dr. William Gibson and his guard Max I don't believe we're told who that report was for or if it ever got sent.

The guy Ada was talking to at

The guy Ada was talking to at the end of Damnation is Simmons. Though I don't recall to whom the Las Plagas: Organism of War video was sent to.

If Jake isn't the protagonist

If Jake isn't the protagonist of Biohazard 7 or one of them (after Chris got two in a row I wouldn't be surprised if Jake did as well), then I could see his Middle Eastern travels becoming a CGI sequel, and I also really like the ideas of having Claire or Sherry. Chris, Leon and Jill are characters who've had enough consistent screentime, at least for the time being. We need more variety in the cast like we used to have. Whatever happened to Ark Thompson, Rebecca Chambers, Barry Burton, Josh Stone, Parker Luciani, etc.? No one says we have to bring those guys back, but Capcom should start showing us more than the same faces we just saw over and over again.

I am not sure, but I thought Ada wasn´t in contact with Simmons after Raccoon city incident until events of Bio6. Or was she?

Yeah, she had contact with

Yeah, she had contact with Simmons way before 6 if I recall. She used to work for him, I think.

I belive your mistaken this file

says after Raccoon City she "severed all connections" with him so, unless I'm missing something, it cant be him.

Meaning one of three things:

1) It's Carla posing as Ada (who's been heavily informed of Ada's past with Leon)

2) The animators didn't know about Ada severing ties with Simmons and included him to have a link to RE6 besides Leon, Ada and Hunnigan appearing in the film

3) It's not Simmons at all, and they just reused his model, like the guy at the end of RE3's Mercenaries who looks like Irons.

Do we have a date for when

Do we have a date for when Damnation is set?

No earlier than some time in

No earlier than some time in 2011.

2012 even. The last date

2012 even. The last date given in the prologue is February 2012, which means that it's set after the DSO was established, but before 6. Benford is incumbent.

It's set in February 2011,

It's set in February 2011, just after the DSO is formed.

If they do release a sequal

If they do release a sequal to Damnation (I do think they need to complete the trifecta, but then again that's my OCD talking), you just no it's going to start with a "D" and have Leon in it! I think that's inevitable...

Number 2 it is! (I don't give Capcom much credit at this point... :P)

Number 3 is much more likely.

Number 3 is much more likely.

Any new info? All of my

Any new info? All of my searches pull up the Anderson movie coming out in september. I get the feeling that Capcom is, at this point, unsure where to go with the series as a whole. After the commercial let down of Resident Evil 6 they said they would go back to survival horror for the next installment. Until they figure out how they are going to do that I doubt we'll see another installment in the series be it a movie or a game. But I will remain hopeful... so.... any new info guys?

I like to think that is is Number 1. It would add more depth to Carla, Leon, Ada, and it could be a tread for future Resident Evil  films and game.

I'm down with that idea.

Hell, I wouldn't mind if the protagonist for the next RE CGI film is Rebecca Chambers! It would be interesting to see what she's been up to post-1998.

I think it's clear the return of Rebecca is massive. Plus her appearence in the Stage show. is she back proper?

2017 seems like it's forever

2017 seems like it's forever from now! I am excited about Rebecca showing up too! I've thoroughly enjoyed both movies but would love for them to add something more significant to the lore. To me, the first movie was nothing but a giant homage to RE2, while Damnation served in a similar manner to 4.

And is it too much to ask for some sort of resolution on what Jill and Claire have been up to since RE5 and REV2??

If it can help the mess that

If it can help the mess that was re6 then I'm all for it. Degeneration was great perhaps because it was the last media to have bog standard t virus zombies

Lookin forward to it.  I

Lookin forward to it.  I generally dont mind Leon being the primary character of these but I hope he does take a more backseat role.  It will be cool to see more interaction between RE1 and RE 2 characters.

I find myself wondering if

I find myself wondering if they mean reboot in less the common sense and more in the "time to set up a new long range plot" sense.
